Welcome

A New Name, Same Experienced Leadership

Mike and Gina Fyola, the owners of TYJ Global, have more than thirty years’ combined helicopter experience, and ten years experience running the largest helicopter flight school in Colorado, Rotors of the Rockies.  TYJ Global is located in Metropolitan Denver, at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (formerly Jeffco Airport, KBJC.)  We specialize in high-altitude flight training and charter service.

Mike is a 10-year veteran of the Denver and Jefferson County Sheriff's Offices, and a recently retired National Guard Chief Warrant Officer and combat veteran, who spent five years training with the ARNG High Altitude Training facility in Eagle. Mike has logged more than 6000 helicopter flight hours; he has flown medical evacuation and search and rescue flights, dozens of photographers and film crews, hundreds of sightseers, the Vice President of the United States, governors, Congressmen, and NASCAR drivers. Mike has appeared locally on Channels 7 and 9, and was featured on the History Channel in 2004. In 2009, Mike Fyola, in conjunction with ICF, developed the first FAA Helicopter Aviation Safety Inspector Indoctrination Course.

We have more than 28,500 logged flight hours in Colorado’s high altitude environment, and are the exclusive training center for the Nebraska State Patrol Air Unit and the City of Omaha Police Department. We have trained pilots for the Albuquerque PD, San Juan County (NM) Sheriff’s Department, Boulder County Drug Task Force, Douglas County Sheriff, Colorado State Patrol, Denver PD, Westminster PD, and Colorado Springs PD. We have provided air support for the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office, and trained with the Boulder County Drug Task Force and Denver Joint Terrorism Task Force.

So Why Change a Good Thing?

After ten years in business, eight of those being sole owners of Rotors of the Rockies, Inc., we've decided to go back to being the sole owners of our flight school.  The change in name better reflects our core values and our renewed dedication to the goal we've been striving for all along:  to be the best, safest, and most innovative flight school in the region.  The heart and soul of our company have not changed - Mike Fyola is still the chief pilot, our programs and curricula are the same, and our dedicated CFIs and aircraft owners remain.  We are excited about the new things that are happening around here, watch for our new agricultural applications program coming soon!

What We Can Offer:

TYJ offers flight training on a variety of levels, from private pilot to certified flight instructor, and the full range of instrument training. The majority of our flight training is done in Schweizer 300C helicopters, the safest, most reliable piston helicopter of record. Schweizers are uniquely suited to Colorado's high altitude, and like all Schweizer products, have no special FAA safety restrictions.  SEE OUR FLIGHT TRAINING PAGE FOR MORE INFORMATION.

We follow a strict maintenance schedule, and we have an open-book maintenance policy.

Since 2001, we have helped students obtain over 400 helicopter ratings, logging more than 28,500 high-altitude flight hours in the process. Customers have taken pictures, made films, proposed to sweethearts, viewed property, and dropped golf balls from our helicopters.  LOOKING FOR A CHARTER OR SIGHTSEEING FLIGHT?  SEE OUR CHARTER SERVICES FOR MORE INFORMATION.
